In recognition of the 47th anniversary of our partnership with Ronald McDonald House, the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is thrilled to announce grants totaling $61,840 to eight local Ronald McDonald House Chapters from the Foundation’s Ronald McDonald House Endowment.
This year’s grants range from $3,500 to $13,440 to support unique needs and special projects at each Chapter. After careful deliberation, the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation has selected the following grant recipients:
- Ronald McDonald House Central Valley (CA) – Replace existing beds with new beds that provide enhanced comfort and accessibility
- Ronald McDonald House Maine – Renovate two guest rooms into one large family suite designed to comfortably accommodate larger families
- Ronald McDonald House Maritimes (Canada) – Replace non-functional bubble tube and enhance interactive experiences in sensory room
- Ronald McDonald House New England (MA) – Replace dining tables and sleeper sofas in family apartments
- Ronald McDonald House New York – Purchase new healthcare-grade freezer for breast milk storage
- Ronald McDonald House Omaha (NE) – Install new automated external defibrillators (AED) and bleeding control kits on all levels of the House, replace outdated non-contact thermometers, and purchase additional personal-sized refrigerators for rooms with nursing parents
- Ronald McDonald House Southern California – Purchase computers, printers, and technology accessories in a new dedicated workspace for caregivers at the Long Beach House Program
- Ronald McDonald House Southern West Virginia – Install new wall-mounted shower dispensers, hand soap dispensers, folded paper towel dispensers, updated trash cans, and shower curtains and liners in family bathrooms and purchase initial bulk inventory of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap
The Ronald McDonald House Endowment was created as part of the Foundation’s landmark $10,000,000 We Believe Campaign in 2015. Collegiate chapters, alumnae, parents, and friends of Alpha Delta Pi have helped raise more than $1,300,000 to expand the reach of our philanthropic partnership with Ronald McDonald House through this fund. This is the 8th year these endowment grants have been awarded by the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, bringing the total grants awarded from the endowment to more than $338,500.
In addition to the endowment grants, Alpha Delta Pi chapters, alumnae associations, and house corporations volunteer more than 417,000 service hours at and raise more than $2,000,000 annually for local Ronald McDonald House Chapters, bringing our lifetime support since 1979 to more than $26,700,000.
